FAQs
How long before my order ships?
Most orders ship within 1-3 days assuming the items were in stock, there were no changes to the order, and depending on shipping service selected during checkout if applicable. In the event of unforeseen circumstances, we will reach out.
Do your wicks contain lead?
Lead wicks have been officially banned in the United States since 2003, and before then they were primarily limited to inexpensive imported candles. We have never and will NEVER use lead wicks!
Do you ship any day of the week including weekends?
We strive to use discretion when shipping during hot weather. If extreme heat is expected, we try to limit shipping to earlier in the week to prevent candles from sitting in hot trucks over the weekend. To help protect your candles, please ensure someone is available to accept deliveries, especially during the summer.
Due to the risks associated with ordering candles in hot months, we cannot be held liable for melted candles and other wax products. While we insure all our shipments, melted wax is not covered by carriers such as FedEx or USPS.
Tips to Avoid Issues:
-
Alternative Delivery Locations: Since home deliveries might be left on a hot porch, consider having your package delivered to a place where someone can receive it, such as a friend or family member's house, or your workplace (if permitted).
-
Prompt Retrieval: If you expect a delivery to your home, try to ensure someone is available to bring the package inside promptly, reducing the time it spends in the heat.
-
Early Week Shipping: As a courtesy, we aim to ship early in the week to minimize the risk of packages being left in warehouses or trucks over the weekend.
What if an item is defective or damaged as it arrives?
Our goal is your satisfaction. If your product is damaged upon arrival, please send us a message via Email. Please retain the original packaging materials in case we need it returned back to us. We will work with you to get an exchange ASAP.
What if I really don't like the fragrance I ordered? Can I return it?
Regrettably, we do not usually allow exchanges for personal fragrance preferences unless there is a defect in the candle. We hope you can comprehend that policy since everyone has a distinct sense of smell and preference. Nevertheless, candles can be excellent gifts, and even if you do not a scent, it is likely that a friend, co-worker, or family member will. We make sure to provide fragrance profiles and notes in each product description to assist you in making your decision.
Why do most candles say to discontinue using the candle when a half inch of wax remains in the bottom?
Burning candles on heat resistant surfaces is a safety measure that is recommended by all candle makers and retailers. As the wick nears the base, the bottom of the glass can get hot and cause damage, cracking or breaking. It is important to prioritize safety when handling candles.
What kind of Wax do you use?
Each type of wax has its own advantages and best uses, so the choice depends on the desired properties of the finished candle or melts such as burn time, scent throw, and appearance. However, most products are comprised of soy blends and coconut blends.
Do you ship internationally?
Currently, our customer base is primarily in the US, but we look forward to expanding internationally in the future.
My address is incorrect on my order. What should I do?
If you notice that your address is incorrect after the order has already been placed, please email me immediately at galiciacandleco@gmail.com so I can adjust it before shipping out your order!
Do you have local pickup?
Not at the moment, but we are working on offering that for our local customers in the future.
What can I do to prevent my candle from tunneling?
For optimal results, ensure that the top layer of wax on your candle completely melted from the wick to the container's edge before extinguishing it. This not only enhances the fragrance but also prevents tunneling.
